All Firies are incredibly brave people. My experience is of a more pleasant nature. Just now (23/12/16) I heard sirens and it scared the crap out of me but I couldn't smell smoke. When I went out to look it was the Maydena Volunteer Fire Service driving round wishing everyone a Merry Xmas. The truck was festooned with tinsel and there was a 'father christmas' on the back. There are many people who live alone in Maydena and this was rather a joyous occasion!! I just wanted to thank them very much - it cheered me up immensely!I hope that all Firies everywhere have an emergency free Xmas and a quiet New Year - but special thanks to our local peeps!
