Always my first choice ...friendly knowledgeable staff top shelf gear. MTB or road they have stocked Spesh cervelo intense cannondale over the years. Recommend highly.
I took my bike in to get the bearings replaced during peak Christmas period and was greeted with open arms. The mechanics assisted me and posed the different options in fixing the bearings. They sorted the bike out in little to no time. Same day pickup. Would highly recommend for any bike rider in Hobart. Aesthetically nice shop as well.
Whenever I am in another city, I like to visit their bike shops. This bike store opens early, is centrally located and has nice and friendly staff.It's very clean and well presented.They are mainly MTB focused, not much road stuff on offer. I saw Specialized, Bombtrack and Surly bikes, and I even saw a couple of DT Swiss wheels on display (disc brake wheels with 240 hubs for $1250).Not that much clothing on the shelves, and no long sleeve summer road jerseys (strange when Tassie is in the Ozone hole and your arms would burn in not much time). A note for locals - bikes are available for demo - free for 4hrs, nominal charge for a bit longer. I asked about trying a bike for a couple of hours, mentioned I had a bike fit measurements (they were only concerned about the saddle height - seems like saddle fore/aft was DIY, and no hope of a stem flip). They checked with the boss and I was told that being from interstate, I'd have to rent. Day rental is $100 and there was no discount and no negotiation if you only wanted it 2 hrs. As stated before, the staff were nice, but it seems the boss only wants to gouge your wallet. That was $200 for 2 bikes for a couple of hours... I'd suggest that if you were a local, you definitely want to do yourself a favour and check out McBain cycles (Giant), and Ken Self Cycles (Trek, Bianchi) and see what they are like.If you're not local and want to rent a bike, go check out Hobart Bike Rental (cnr Brooke St and Morrison St) - it's a few blocks down the hill close to the waterfront. They are half the price and the guy there was heaps nice and friendly. Like I said, this shop has really nice and friendly staff, it's clean and tidy, but just be wary of the potential damage to your wallet. YMMV.
Got thier today but was just closing didn't realize they were open so good to have a bike shop open on Sundays good onya looking forward to coming back
