Nice, helpful, caring staff for our stay. Biggest letdown was the standard hospital food.
One of caring and warm doctor in this hospital pretty much helped me to overcome the illness at late night around 12am. She is like a hero, I wish to say more thanks to you!!! And thank you Horbart private hospital

I had the misfortune to require surgical intervention. Having an unhappy time at the Royal Hobart Hospital (no beds, prolonged stay in the waiting room), plan to place me on the waiting list and hopefully have the procedure in 24 months, EMU ward staff eventually answering the bell (30 minutes is a fairly common delay for the staff to answer the bell), I was fortunate to be transferred to Hobart Private Hospital. Accepted by Mr Patinotis, I was transferred from the Royal and in theatre the same day! Problem solved I was discharged within 2 days. Amazing if you consider I waited in pain and distress at times for 3 days next door.Mr Patinotis is a delightful individual, very informative and answers questions (extremely unusual for a surgeon). Nursing staff were in the main excellent, though the night staff didn't check me overnight after theatre (I was awake all night watching tv).The hospital could do with some money spent on patient rooms as they're starting to show a lot of wear and tear, but this doesn't detract from a stressful situation that was sorted by Mr Patinotis.
Came in for a blood test and was asked if I could come back later as they required larger needles for this test and the nurse 'couldn't be bothered going upstairs' to fetch it. I also was questioned as to why I wanted the harmony test done and felt judged for this decision..even though there are posters for this test in the room!Front staff also supplied incorrect information on two occassions.
