I joined BUPA after having being with my private health insurer for 30 years as they had no waiting period for eye surgery... I was offered over the phone a bonus visa card with $1000 and I quoted I was a Velocity member (Virgin offered $80 000 points ) when joining BUPA. So all good I joined and paid 6 months. I received an email saying that my bonus visa card was going to be paid in instalments rather than as how was offered..also my Velocity points were not credited. I called BUPA to complaint about this. Their customer service staff were absolutely juvenile and inconsistent , a person called Sarah in the customer service area, was so rude and unhelpful basically saying that I was telling lies..I then asked to cancel my membership. Then another person Will was really trying to convince me to stay he offered a month free plus all the previous bonuses plus the previous offers, I then asked him to put this in writing please... then he put me on hold and came back to say: "No sorry we won't be able to honor all we had offered to you" ! Totally unprofessional really! Not knowing what to say or do ! I asked them to cancel my membership at once! (luckily still in the cool of period).
